We moved from downtown to LG almost 2 years ago this November and its been great for us.

Generally the nicer parts of Lemon Grove are in the geographic center or on top of the hill getting closer to Broadway. For example we live between Central and San Miguel, west of LG Ave. Basically walking distance to Sprouts and the trolley.

If you could, try and stay between Mt Vernon and Central Ave east to west. After that its street by street but can get a little rougher on the southernmost part near Imperial Ave in South Encanto.

Keep an eye out when you are ready to move because rents are starting to creep up here as well as home prices now that they are putting in a new transit center and park and revitalizing the downtown.
