My family is being transfered to San Diego. We are looking for a home in either Del Cerro or Tierra Santa. We have two small children, so we need information on schools, shopping, and the areas of Del Cerro and Tierra Santa. Any information would be appreciated. I will be going to Iraq, so I am looking for a good, safe neighborhood for my family while I am away.

What service are you in? Can you qualify for housing? I would say this would be your best bet due to the cost of living here. I have a friend who lives in housing in Tierrasanta.

My husband in also military so we are very familiar with what you are going through. Feel free to call or e-mail me with specific questions. If you are looking to buy a home you can visit my website and search the MLS to get an idea of prices. It will also give you a breakdown of the neighborhoods.

We are military as well and are being sent to Maryland next month (Bethesda).

We have been living in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista and love it. Very safe , plenty of shopping, neighbors are always friendly. Although our kids are not school age yet , we hear the schools in the Eastlake area are very good. Just my opinion of the area. Just an FYI...if we can swing it we will move back to Chula Vista to live permanent after our service time is done. We love it that much...hope it helps.
