Hello everyone

I've just agreed to rent a place on this street, please could anyone tell me if it's safe? I'm a female and I will be sharing with another female.

I've just been reading posts in the other forums and most are saying that South of Adams is not.

I'll only be staying there for the summer and I rely on public transport although I am in a position to hire a car.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you

Overall I think you'll be fine. Obviously Normal Heights south of Adams is not a high income area, but it's not a dangerous drive-by shooting zone either. Reasonable precautions will be fine. And you will only be a block or two from frequent bus service.

I do hope your unit will have some kind of A/C. In San Diego, the open summertime windows are what put women at risk, and that's everywhere not just south of I-8.

The unit does not have A/C which is a huge drawback. The apartment is upstairs.

Being upstairs will help regarding security.

The lack of A/C is going to make for some uncomfortable nights. You'll definitely need a couple of fans to keep the air moving. Actually, probably 3 fans. One for each bedroom, and another one out in the living room.
