There are several authors and business personaities that I know live or have a home in the San Diego area, Jack Canfield who co-wrote the Chicken Soup for the Soul, Robert Allen, the 90's real estate guru, John Gray who wrote the Mars and Venus series, T. Harv Eker (I think he bought a home in Santaluz, When I was there last week I found out he is a member of the golf club), Frank Kern, Mike Koenig, Andy Jenkins, etc. Most of these people may be unknown for most people but they are celebrities in their own field.

You are right.

Mark was born in Ridgecrest, but moved to San Diego after high school.

Travis born in Fontana, moved to San Diego after high school as well.

Scott Raynor, their original drummer, is from Poway though.

Not to belabor this, but I kinda chose to ignore Raynor there for the sake of brevity. I missed that Travis had moved to SD from the IE.

haha I had a teacher in Jr. high that supposedly dated one of the members of the band years ago. I can't remember which one though.
