Hello everyone. Got offered a job in san diego in the 92121 area code area. pays 85k to start but I will be pulling another salary with my wife for a total of 145k in two. Any suggestion on where to live so that the commute is not too crazy. I have not been to SD and I am not familiar with the area. My wife is a school psycologist and would need to be in a decent school district. I believe renting is the best option for now but where? which area are good? Any advise and input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Sincerely
David

I use to work in this area too. 92121 is the Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley area. I would suggest looking into Carmel Mountain, Rancho Penasquitos, Poway or Rancho Bernardo. All are pretty family oriented and have great schools especially the Poway school district. They are also pretty close so the commute wont be to bad. A bit over the average cost wise for San Diego but your combined income you'll do just fine. Most houses in these areas are averaging $600,000 and renting I'm not to sure. If you want to rent an apartment you might also look into the UTC/La Jolla area.

Good Luck
