Well, in L.A.'s case, it's a "powerhouse" of low wage jobs, and it's only getting worse. I know some here won't agree, but from what I've seen in the Census numbers, the average job in San Diego County pays better than the average job in L.A. County.

That may be true, but it is also true that I could do the same job that I do here in San Diego for 30-50k more in LA. Or at least, have the opportunity to.
