Like many have said they are not afraid of humans, and they can be mean suckers.

You'll be making a big mistake to leave out food and trying to take pictures, that raccoon will rip you and that camera to shreds if it has to. Do not encourage it to come back, and take care of yourself.

I went to my garage and a huge racoon came towards me. I ran to my door and tried scaring it with a shovel and just stood fearless then ran up my tree. I'm trying to scare it out because it also scared my cat up the other tree. Any ideas?

I think these are excellent stew-type animals.......as long as they are not foaming at the mouth.

just saw a pair in my front yard. seem to be living in the brush. Look like 40 pounders. Do they attack small dogs ? east county

I'm surprised you've never seen a dead raccoon in your neck of the woods. I have seen several dead raccoons at the side of the road on I-56 near where you live.
