The worst experience I had was with these "educators". Teachers with bad attitudes. Very commercial: always asking for money.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience there, I know nothing of this school but the complaint seems a bit biased because it could just be your perception of the school.

Spending per student in California is one of the lowest in the U.S. Poway School District is an excellent school district, and in order to provide a high quality of education on such a small budget, you have to expect that they will ask for money a lot.

Music, art, paper supplies, computers, etc. are just not part of the budget and are often provided through the PTA or a school foundation raising funds to provide these things.

The rule in CA : the better the school is, the more money they will ask for. The worst schools don't ask for any money, because they know they won't get it.

At Hearst, they have "art sales" where they sell the children's art for hundreds of dollars a piece.

Do they accept any other forms of donation besides money?

Yes, they use parent volunteers to teach art and to help in lots of other ways. I was in the classroom almost everyday when we lived in San Diego. They also gladly accept donations of supplies - paper especially. Teachers/PTA tries to keep parents informed of what is needed specifically.

I guess my schools are good then as there isn't a week goes by that doesn't have a fundraiser on the counter here at home.
