Hi guys!

I'm thinking to buy a property in US to live there for a few months in a year.
I prefer ocean-view modern high-rise condos. I visited Miami and seen a lot of good condos on the beach there. Then I thought that SD maybe better city to live than Miami and decided also to look something there. But I can not find such properties in SD in the web - only houses, 2-3 store condo and very old buildings. Do you have any modern projects there? Can you give me some links please?

Thank you very much!

I don't think there are any Miami-style ocean view high-rises here. There are several condo complexes downtown with a good view of San Diego Bay, though.

All of California's coast line is subject to a 30 foot height limit except in a few select downtown metropolitan areas. This was done to prevent exactly that Miami kind of high rise condominium development. If you want a high rise condo in San Diego your only option would be to look in the downtown area, and in downtown the height limit is 500 feet because of the proximity of the airport. Most of the tall buildings downtown are commercial office structures, but there are a few that are residential. I don't know how many of them might have unobstructed views of the bay. I'm not sure if a view of the ocean could be had across the bay, and Coronado and Point Loma.

There are Coronado Shores on Coronado--they're older, built in the early 70s, and very expensive (some time shared), but right on the beach with awesome views of the ocean and the city. They do have that "Miami" style look to them to some degree.

Thank you very much, jkoz! it looks quite nice. It's really not cheap, but good alternative to Miami.
