I'm trying to get more fit and not be as fat as I am right now. I found a pair of old roller skates I forgot I bought a few years ago. What are some free places in San Diego where it isn't too crowded?

Depending on your notion of 'crowded' The path around Miramar is popular. Relax, be considerate of your fellow travelers, and enjoy it.

I am just worried about falling a lot. I haven't skated in years.

That's on you. Padding on vulnerable joints. . . .

There are rare 'jerks' on the path around Lake Miramar. Very very rare.

Go all around Mission Bay, start at DeAnza Cove. I used to do this all the time with my kids, only on rollerblades. Or, head north to Oceanside Harbor... Wear knee pads and wrist guards, you will be fine!

On Sunday afternoons, you'll find a group of roller skaters behind the Mission Bay Hilton Hotel.

Here's a short video:

Go on an Atkins based diet and things will be a LOT better. Skating is fun, but what you eat and how much is far more important and most people eat too much junk because .. it tastes good.
