Considering there a lot more SUV's out in the coast I would think the air quality is not too bad. We moved to Murrieta from La Quinta (a city in the desert near palm Springs) and it was WAY worst! I would be more concerned with the bacteria levels in the ocean and tap water along the coast (especially the closer you get to Mexico) more so than the air quality here. It is a fantastic place to live, especially if you have a family-the schools are the best in the county and your are near many universities. Good luck!

Can anyone share with me concerning the cost of utilities in Temecula/Murietta? Power, do they have natural gas, how much is a typical water bill? I am trying to budget with no surprises. Internet access? I have also read that Temecula doesn't have a real police force and I am concerned about hospital/emergency services and access to good doctors. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My property has a water tank (Well) and you don't have to make monthly payments. There's a gas tank too and you don't make monthly payments. Only payments for electricity are what you will have to pay.

Temecula does have a real police force and they have a station in murrieta. All you have to do is dial 911 or call the local number for the police station for temecula, or just call the operator. There are fire stations nearby and I am sure they can assist you as soon as possible for an emergency.
