Somebody told me of a place today where as they put it, "the Mexicans hang out", to get work from anyone that cares to give it to them in Pacific Beach (near San Diego).

Something about going down Balboa to under some bridge and then continuing to some street and turning left to end up in front of someplace

I couldn't find that place to save my life!

But...I need to generate some extra cash this week and given that I might be able to hang out and get some work there I am wondering if anyone knows of such a hang out place in Pacific Beach? Such that they could give me more specific directions on how to get there than I remember.

Where a bunch of people hang out waiting for someone to pick them up for work.

It's not a Home Depot. I know that much.

Any suggestions of where the place mentioned to me today might be in Pacific Beach would be appreciated. Or if not at Pacific Beach if anyone can suggest such a place where one is likely to find some work I would be most interested in hearing about it.

The Home Depot's are the most well known such places but I am not sure I want to hang out in front of Home Depots. Given that I won't go chasing after people who come out of the parking lot for work...my chances of getting work in front of Home Depot's is...well...rather limited I think.

Thanks.

Carlos

It's in front of the In-N-Out across the street from a mini storage on the corner of Damon Ave and Mission Bay Dr. There are usually other people hanging out in front so you'll probably have to compete with them for work.

Thanks very much!! That's exactly the info I was looking for. These forums are great to get such info through.

Take care.
