loved it, I can't believe Liverworst was on the list. It is one of my favorites but how many people would think of Liverworst when they think of favorite foods?

Default Rocky's in PB!!!!!

Hodads makes a mean burger, but I have to say, Rocky's in PB (Ingrahm and La Playa) makes a burger that cannot be beaten. I've taken some serious burger fanatics there and so far, I have yet to find one person who doesn't agree that they're the best they've ever had anywhere. Can't believe they didn't make the list!! If you want a burger and a good beer - go to Rocky's and you won't be disappionted!

There's no Naked Cafe in Leucadia. Now, if by "leucadia area" you mean Solana Beach, I agree!
I'd add to this list anything, and I mean anything, at Elizabethan Desserts in Encinitas.

North Park Cafe for those surprisingly working Capitano Crunchola Pancakes - been there at least once and very good.

BTW, I don't think you can take the kiddies to Rocky's in PB due to age minimum?

I'll say Hodad has the better burger, Rocky's has the better atmosphere. Rocky's burger is not bad by a longshot, though.

Bety's Tacos in Encinitas serves the best Pollo Mole I've had in SD County.
Terra in Hillcrest served a very memorable Sea Bass (don't know if it's a regular item though).
Chi's Chocolate (out of business) used to serve incredibly good hot chocolates made just from solid chocolate bars.
Oh, the list could go on...

I read through the list pretty fast, so I apologize if this was already mentioned, but I would like to add my critique of the Tin Fish in Imperial Beach. This is located on the beach at the end of the pier ... and in fact, we would have easily missed it if we didn't take a walk on the pier! It's a well hidden gem.

It could easily be described as a "hole in the wall" compared to many of the more upscale eateries ... but the prices there aren't exactly cheap. That's fine, because I'm a huge believer in that you get what you pay for, and the food was certainly worth the price. My girlfriend tried the grilled salmon & she said it was even better than her mother's salmon ... and her mother is an excellent cook. I had the grilled swordfish, and it simply melted in my mouth. The cuisine at the Tin Fish is AUTHENTIC seafood, and I can honestly say that it was probably the best I've ever had.
