Has anyone else noticed less Bros in SD over the past 5 years?

Definitely not seeing nearly as many lifted trucks and such anymore.

Agreed. The Bros have gone from a variant of the then-dominant surfer / skater culture of the late 90's / early 2k's to a niche subculture that's really about moto-x and off-roading. The rise of hipsterism and the fact that young people are more interested in smartphones and neon tank tops than owning a lifted truck seems to have muted the Bro scene.

It would be interesting to see Bros trading in their lifted trucks and flatbills for skinny jeans and fixie bikes.

Yup. The hispters. Always reminds of this beauty titled "How to catch a hipster"

I live in Lakeside/El Cajon, the Bro's are alive and well out here in East County. We've lived out here for 3 years and this is our first East County experience. Its definitely a different culture than our previous neighborhoods or Clairemont, Tierrasanta, and Downtown studio living. When we first moved out here, I jokingly told my wife, "Boy, the white people sure seem different out here than in the city of San Diego."

But we can be reminded of the good ol' days any time the Padres win at home in walk-off fashion, because Petco Park then plays "Bro Hymn" by Pennywise, an anthem that can make any toughened surfer-turned-off-roading sand duner simultaneously cry his manly eyes out and exalt in celebration of life.
