One of my San Diego friends told me I could bring the ticket in the mall to validate for a cheaper price or something...

One time I left my rental care parked on top of the garage with my driver window down. I got the feeling San Diego was safe because no one stole anything our of the car, not even my gps or $10 bill in the cup holder.

My cousins lived like ballers in SD for a few years. Needless to say all but 2 are back home, broke. good job housing market.

People who have been in Ca. or SD. for a long time have a few advantages that may give them the appearance of wealth. The biggest is the fact they many of them arrived when SD. was somewhat affordable. This is not true today. And many have family in the area. Which helps to build relationships and network to find jobs. If you really like SD. Why not take a year and move out to SD. Give it a year and see how it goes. And try not to liquidate your life in Texas(home, job, friends, etc). In case Ca. doesnt pan out. Good luck.
