Lots of nice areas too.
Good luck with everything!

Not for Ocean Beach, the place might be kind of small and dated/dumpy for that price but its relatively reasonable. OB is probably one of the "cheapest" beach communities in SD. I've noticed A LOT of "For Rent" signs in PB and OB lately so I think rents might have come down a little.

That building is notorious for tweaker / drug issues. It is sandwiched between two commercial buildings.

Now that I look again... not sure this is the building I am thinking of... but apartments in that area tend to be party / drug buildings anyway.

Third world slums? Hardly.

As far as crime is concerned, San Diego is consistently ranked as one of the safest large cities in the nation.

The biggest downside is not "3rd world slums". On the contrary it's the extremely high cost of living due to it being a great city.

It's all in the census...
