Hi everyone,
my husband and I moved in San Diego county a month ago and we love it here! We live in Encinitas, but I work in Mira Mesa, and so far I wasn't able to find a big store that sells both groceries (including perishable items) and regular department store (clothes, sports items, electronics..).
We come from Chicago where Meijers was an example of what I was looking for, where I could do all of my shopping in one stop.
Is there anything like it in San Diego County?
Any input is appreciated as thank you for your help!

There's a Costco in Mira Mesa, if that's what you're looking for.

Thank you all.
I thought maybe Costco was the closest to what I had in mind.
Anybody knows how much the yearly membership is? I have a Sam's Club card but I might switch to Costco at this point.
Thank you!

Yearly membership to Costco is $50. There is only one Sam's Club in San Diego, and it's in College Grove. Just from judging the cars in their parking lot, Costco gets more business. But the same shopping center has a Walmart, Target, Big Logs, and Kohls is taking over the vacant Mervyns space.

Thank you Moved.
I'm not familiar with College Grove (still trying to learn all the neighborhoods) but it looks like the Costco in Mira Mesa is a better solution for me since it's close to work. I'll look into a membership there.
Thank you again!

There's a Costco on Palomar Airport Road and the 5 in Carlsbad. Can't be far from you in Encinitas. (6 miles or so, maybe shorter).

There's not a Costco in Mira Mesa, Poway and Carmel Mountain are the closest to Mira Mesa. However, just go on their website and look there, there are a lot more Costco than Sam's Club here (I think it's like 3 to 1). You can still go to Vista Sam's Club, if you want to use the card still. Also, there are not really any superstores like Meijer. Although I think there are some WalMart Supercenters inland.
