My trip from Rhode Island to San Diego was at the end of July. We did go a center route through Indy, St Louis, Oklahoma City, and then into New Mexico and Arizona. Each subsequent day was a further descent into hell . . . and we HAD air conditioning (although, in New Mexico, the room we had did not!
