And how often does Mr. Rolando get up to the north coast?

It may not be Belmont Park-size, but Moonlight has pretty good-sized lot. If you are set on Carlsbad and it's after 11, 11:30 on a Sat or Sun, you just have to be a little flexible about exactly which spot in town you will land at. But the parking will be there - somewhere. Really. It helps if there aren't too many RVers.

Oceanside has a lot of parking by the pier, too: free and pay.

We don't go the beach very often, but when we do, we go to the north county beaches. I am in agreement with the OP that OB, Mission, PB are disgusting.
