Yes that is the product. I have a cat and it doesn't seem to be an issue. You spray it on the foundation of the house and it dries there, so I don't think it should be an issue. Not sure if it works with roaches.

I had never heard of them until I moved to Huntsville. A friend of mine in Huntsville who grew up in Loma Linda, said she remembers then in some parts of Southern California.

I went camping Labor Day weekend 2007 in Potrero Park. While I was there, I had the luxury of being bitten by fire ants, and its no fun. If you disturb their nest, they will attack and swarm all over you.

***URGENT***

Hi,

I’m writing from a TV production company called Darlow Smithson Productions, based in London, UK. I’m a producer for a new series for Animal Planet about infestations. The series examines both the 'natural history' of various types of pests and we’re also looking for real life stories and case studies that tell the story of these creatures from the human perspective, in particular what a nuisance they are.

I've been looking through various forums for stories about ant infestations and came across your post about the problems you face in your home. It seems like it’s been a really irritating problem for you and I’d like to find out more about it. Please could you email me your contact details so I can call you up for a quick conversation? My contact details follow at the end of this message.

You can check out the company I work for at http://www.darlowsmithson.com. We’re a respected production company and we make a lot of documentaries for channels like the BBC, Discovery, National Geographic, PBS and Animal Planet. If anyone else with an ant infestation reads this post, please also feel free to contact me. We’re also looking for home video footage of bad infestations, so please record the evidence is this problem persists.

Many thanks,

Rebecca North

True, but we get ant infestations every year, so it's not too far-fetched to think someone might respond.

Be sure to walk the perimeter of your house looking for the ant tracks to see how they are getting into the house and into their nests.

Ants don't always enter your home from ground level. Look down and look up. If you have any type of landscaping or trees that touch the house, you'll eventually find the ants will use that to cross over any counter-measures you've laid down on the ground.

When I've found the holes where the ants enter the soil to get into nests, I've dug up the area (at least a foot deep), laid in ant-killer granules and watered the area before replacing the soil and ground cover.

It's more effective than just a surface treatment.
