have the leopard sharks been seen in La Jolla yet - can they be seen snorkeling?

yes, 5 foot long ones even. go to la jolla cove or la jolla shores the swim area south of where they launch the kayaks. make sure to go when the water is calm- water will be less cloudy, easier to see in, and navigate through. google for a surf report on the waves and tides. you'll see rays, various fish and maybe sea turtles 2 feet long.

Haven't been to see them yet this summer, but yes, they are there now and have been for quite sometime. With the water being unbelievably clear recently, it's probably quite a sight. There are also suppose to be alot of garibaldis, too.

Last year, I was standing in water up to my chest and all I did was put my snorkel mask on, dunked my head and saw about 10 of them swimming around me. Kinda freaky at first, especially when some are like 5 feet long. Really cool, though.

As mini_cute said, they are just south of where the kayaks launch at the Shores.

Not sure if it's allowed, but here's a video someone recently posted on youtube.
