I did an Executive MBA program and found it extremely beneficial to work while concurrently getting my degree. You will be able to draw from your work experiences in all your assignments and group projects. I highly recommend keeping your job and doing the SDSU program.

Am I glad I got my MBA? I am proud of my accomplishment and the fact that I worked full time and went to school full time. It took me three years but I stayed an extra 8 months to get a marketing concentration. In the end, I'm glad I did it for these reasons. Has it benefited my career? Maybe a little. Being a woman and working in the marketing field, I am underpaid and overworked. A recent survey said that people working in marketing have the least amount of job satisfaction. I wish I knew what companies are paying six-figure salaries to their marketing professionals. I would hop on that gravy train!

I hate to say it, but being a woman I know I'm making a lot less than the men on my team. I recently received a promotion to manage a different team and I still make less than the guys on the other team that aren't managers. It's annoying but someday I will be the director of ALL the teams, so there!

I also like the idea of an executive MBA program. I think working and drawing on real world experience makes the MBA a much more relevant degree. My daughter is a marketing major and my advice to her is that after working for a few years her next step might be to look at executive MBA programs.
