Seriously, if it wasn't for the amazingly hot temps this time of year I'd gladly live there but the wife will have none of it. I like Ramona even more.

lol
Yeah. We almost bought up there and were in contract. House was great but the real fun was looking for insurance that would cover the fire premiums with it being so close to Cleveland National

I dont think there are many drives as gorgeous as driving down the 67 during sunset from Ramona in the County. Its just stunning.

Ramona at one time offered some of the, best bang for your buck real estate.
I have a high school friend that lives up there.
What he paid for his house and 1 1/2 acres of usable land still makes me mad.

I wouldn't live there because I can afford better closer to the beach but if you're looking for an affordable blue collar are in San Diego then, yeah, Santee is pretty good. Pretty low crime, mostly white working class, and ok schools though not great.

Of all the places I've seen in the San Diego area,
Santee is the one that reminded me of Texas.

I plan on selling my beach house some day and doing the cabin plus condo gig. Let someone else do the yard work. Summers in the mtns and winters in Santee would work for me.
