*I have never seen any racism or heard of any major problems of it down here
*Schools are ok but I know plenty of other places where the schools flat out suck
*Bad and dirty area?Maybe some parts but as a whole? Please
*Drug and gang problem.Sure it's San Diego, that stuff is around the City/County;but it's not terrible.
*I wouldn't take your advice on that. There are plenty of areas in the South Bay South of Downtown that are fine and you do not have to live in La Mesa or Bonita.
I agree. I live in an area between CV and SYI. It is not bad and the weather here is awesome. I have lived here almost 7 years, before I lived in National City. I think there was mot crime and were more gangs over there.

Actually, old CV seems to have more crime than Otay Mesa. There seem to be a higher number of Police officers here than in CV.

I remember that James Huberty guy who walked into the McDonalds and shot/killed a bunch of people in the early 80's. That's what I equate SY with. Sorry.

That happened in SY,not South San Diego
(SSD zip is 92154;San Ysidro is 92143&73)
That's a big difference between SSD and SY.
That was the 1980's.And didn't he blast up the place because he "didn't like Mexicans" or something like that?

I didn't say SSD, I said SY. Did you read my post? I believe I also stated "early 80's". I was merely making a statement that when I see or hear the name San Ysidro, the shooting spree at the McDonalds by James Huberty is what comes to mind. I am never, ever going to think of the place in terms of anything else.
