What's your budget for that 2bd condo?

250-300K depending on what we make out with after we sell, I don't need a palace
does san Diego have a web site for property taxes?

Property taxes in CA are easy: 1% of the purchase price.

Tierrasanta is a nice SD suburb (zip: 92124). You'd be about 20 minutes from Mission Bay.

Here's an example condo in your price range:

Sounds like NJ only the wealthy live ocean front/ocean block
You'll be glad to know that most people Metro San Diego live within 40 minutes from the nearest beach! But beware that the water temps here are not warm year round like in Florida. Just making sure you know that.

100 degrees inland with no humidity while that is HOT is more bearable to me then 98 degrees with 100% humidity
Humidity here is moderate at worst. Dewpoints can be in the upper 60's during August/September, as opposed to upper 70's in the Deep South. Trust me, if you live inland, you will know it's summer.

Yes I know that. I also know the winters in So California are not as warm as So Florida but I'd rather chew off my arm then live anywhere in Florida...lol way to hot & muggy in summer, it is almost smothering in summer, way way too transient for my tastes.

You'll love the lack of nasty bugs that bite here too. The closer to the Ocean the fewer bugs that bite. I've probably seen 10 skeeters in 12 years in Bay Park.

Never knew that. I know that once the sun starts to go down during the summer at my house, I gotta head inside because the mosquitoes come out. Not like they do elsewhere, but enough to be irritating.

Then there's that pesky one who snuck in and starts buzzing in the dark as you are trying to sleep. Now I have to get up and try to kill it - I hate that!

Darn-it. I thought SoCal didn't have mosquitos. Well, I hope SD doesn't have a pollen problem to aggrevate my allergies, like in North Carolina.
