Hey all, I live in North Park, but work in Escondido. Today I had a hankering for some Asian food, preferably spicy, and was dismayed to find that the one Korean place up here had closed. I ended up at a Thai place on Valley, after I googled around trying to find something, and the food was just *meh*.

Now, I'm used to having pretty much every concievable kind of food at my fingertips when I'm in my neck of the woods, and while I know Esco isn't as cosmopolitan as the N.P., it'd be nice to be able to satisfy my occasional cravings at lunchtime...

Any help would be appreciated.

(P.S. I'm not just thinking of Thai or Korean, but Indian, Japanese- Any place to get good ramen noodles? Or really *anything* besides Mexican, of which there is a plethora up here, some of it quite good)

You and I crave the same ethnic variety, and yes, we (South of the 8) are spoiled to have every type food at our fingertips. You forgot to mention Eritrean, Salvadoran, Hawaiian, Cuban, Lebanese, Argentinean, etc. Italian just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Bali Thai in Mission Valley might be the only Indonesian (obviously, Thai, too) restaurant in the area. I wish there was a Malaysian/Singaporean restaurant in town. There used to be one in Kearny Mesa a few years ago that was really good, then it closed on me.

You would have loved the lunch I had today at Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot in Clairemont. It's like Shabu Shabu, but better!!

Oooh, I've been to Little Sheep! So good.

I wasn't thrilled with Bali Thai.

Never been to Bali Thai, but I guess I'll pass after your experience. I love Little Sheep (especially on a cold day, unlike today). Who would ever think that "Chinese Fondue" could be so good.
