I am currently living in Las Vegas and have always wanted to live near the beach in CA. I am not fixed on southern CA, however I would like to live somewhere I can go out on the water throughout the summer months. I am a correctional officer and could only work somewhere near a prison. Any suggestions as to where would be a nice place to live, near the water, and affordable? Thank you

What's affordable to you? Most affordable in SD by the ocean would be Oceanside, Pacific Beach, and Ocean Beach.

Isn't there a jail in South County somewhere? You might want to check out Imperial Beach because they seem to have good deals. I had a friend that loved living there. It's a little more gritty but if you don't mind that, then check it out! How far away from a jail would you consider?
