Too laid back? Not possible in San Diego.

You'll see lots of houses and condos from your bike on the boardwalk. Lots of colorful 'for sale' flyers too. Be sure to bike around to the bay side. It's much quieter on the bay.

so tower 23 is exactly in PB? it doesnt look that noisy/rowdy here.. was expecting lots of young college kids everywhere.. or im in the wrong location?

You're here in off-season. The boardwalk is a zoo of people during the summer. July 4th is the high-water mark of the crowds. Since alcohol was banned on the beach, it is a little less insane these days.

If you're looking for crowds this week, wait till Midnite on Friday or Saturday and then walk east on Garnet Ave. You won't need to walk far from your location to see a lot of young college kids.
