There have been some great responses in this thread. Finances aside, what is it like living in mid-town, likely around Little Italy?

Great Italian food in that area, condos only, close to beautiful bay, ballpark and Gaslamp section.

I have always lived in the City - downtown, Hillcrest, North Park, now College area.

I love it. If you got money and like noise, Little Italy rocks.

The noise level in Little Italy is awful -its on the main landing pattern for Lindburgh Field (sd's main airport). Next time you fly in you'll notice that the landing gear is seemingly touches the roofs of many homes. That is Little Italy/ Middletown area. The SD Reader and SD Citybeat can give you more info.

Not just planes, but the trolley, frieght trains/amtrak/coaster, and heavy auto traffic. Add in a lot of bars, restaurants and tourists. We like going down there for dinner but I wouldn't want to live there.
