Hi i'm a student, in this moment i'm in Berkeley but now i have the possibility to move to San Diego! I like the see and the beach and the party!
Now the problem i don't know if San Diego is better.
SF have a really good transportation system, a lot of party (but realy expensive).
And the weather is almost bad!
SD is better? More party more chipper? The school is in Elm St and 5th ave!
You suggest me to move? In San Diego I can found more Party? Thx a lot for all information

Well, let's see "Party" is mentioned 4 times while school and student are only referenced one time each. I can see where your priorities lie.

Well, public transportation (buses) around 5th and Elm is pretty good. You will have quick access to the Gaslamp quarter, and many reasonable apartment rental choices in the urban core of San Diego, if student housing isn't provided.

However, the Gaslamp is the most expensive area in San Diego in which to party. Will it be as expensive as San Francisco? I don't know. I haven't partied in the Gaslamp or San Francisco. On the other hand, many people are partying in North Park these days. Those locations should be less expensive than the Gaslamp, and will be nearly as accessible. Not to mention that you might find some places in Hillcrest as well.

Also, while the urban core of San Diego has decent public transportation, Pacific Beach, the 'party' beach you will probably be most interested in partying at, is not as easily reached via public transit from the urban core, though it isn't impossible. However, you will need to take a cab home at night. However, if you are just staying at the beach for the day, and coming home in the late afternoon, public transportation will be available.

And of course, if you prefer sunshine and warm days, over gray fog and drizzle (not everyone does), the weather will be much, much better in San Diego.

Perhaps some more hardcore partiers will give you some specific feedback on the state of partying in San Diego these days.

I don't think you're allowed to carry a surfboard with you on a bus ...

So, to clarify, you do or do not like to party?

I can't see how you can go wrong with PB.

PB is Pacific Beach. PB is known as the party area, lots of bars down there and it's right off the beach.
