What is the latest news?

Does anyone know what has happened to that family of four that have disappeared from the Fallbrook area, of San Diego, and their SUV was found abandoned near the Mexican Border? Thank you,

Last major development I heard reported was that searches of the family's computer found searches about traveling to Mexico. Also thought I heard something about sightings of them in the Acapulco area (?). All this after the surveillance camera footage showing what officials said appeared to be the family crossing the border hand in hand, right around the time they went missing.
To me, it looks more and more like they slipped away (from what, who knows?) into Mexico of their own free will.

Yeah, it sounds to me as though the police decided that since they researched visiting Mexico they must have 'slipped away'.

I completely don't get it! I've been to Mexico several times, and each time before I go I research to see what's going on where we're going. And if I were taking kids into Mexico for the first time, I for darn sure would be investigating passport requirements for them.

I don't see how the fact that they were researching Mexico before they went there makes the situation any less mysterious and possibly urgent.

especially since they found their car abandoned...and with all the murders doing on there...I'm afraid they might have run into the wrong people.

but hopefully they just decided to run away from home and start a new life.

Does anyone know what time of day they crossed the border? On the news the video they had that they think was them it looked dark out (could just be the video so that's why I'm asking) if it were dark why would you take 2 little kids if you didn't have family there or no real reason to be there.

This is an odd and interesting case. there is a video of a family going into mexico as mentioned above. I heard this family had financial hardships and they could have gone to Mexico to get away from their problems.

^^ Yeah, I am so intrigued by this case. I searched online, I guess Americas Most Wanted did a piece on it last night so maybe that will drup up some leads. The whole thing is crazy, why the sudden leaving. They left thier dogs I guess with no food/water. Just bought the home. On their computers they found searches of how to cross into Mexico with no passport/visa. And I guess the mom ( Summer ) has different names? I don't get how people can just vanish in Mexico if that is where they are. Wouldn't you stick out? Wouldn't you need a lot of cash to live of off?

^ yeah from what I heard, both parents had multiple identities. Sounds like a very odd family to me. There's something really suspicious about them. I bet they went into mexico, dyed their hair and are now in hiding. Who knows where they got all that money.

There are thousands of ex-Americans in southern Baja who go there to literally start a new life and they don't want to be found, oftentimes due to financial problems. I have a feeling that's the case with this family.
