No it isn't. It's a coastal steppe with an arid or semi-arid mediterranean climate (depending on how close you are to the ocean). It has neither the humidity of Hawaii or Florida nor the aridity of the inland southwest.

Thank you very much for all the info. Our trip is now planned and booked to 7/2-7/6
We will be coming from 5 days in Disney. We need the relax time with our 4 kidos. I'll start researching the 4th of July fireworks recommended here. I'm so excited!!!
San Diego is a very beautiful city...if money was not an option, we would move now. Thanks for the info on the jobs.
