I'm interested in info on the mission vally area. The areas around interstate 8 from mission vally west, east until around San diego state university. How are the people, crime, class, demographics, etc. Is it considered a good area or bad area?

It is fine
Jogging trail along the river, many condos/apartments along the river, trolley runs right through it. At the East end, you have Ikea, Library, Lowes, Costco, etc.
