According to various sports shows on cable (ESPN's Pardon The Interruption, The Sports Reporters, and some of the discussions I've viewed on the local Fox network sports channel), he is very highly thought of with his peers. He has worked with a variety of former NFL stars as NBC's #1 football broadcaster, some of them being Len Dawson, Bob Trumpy, John Brodie, and Merlin Olsen. In fact, I had Denver radio on the net on one time, (KOA radio), and he was a guest on Dave Logan's show. He was talking about Merlin Olsen and the relationship he had with Olsen. This was a few months ago after Olsen had passed away.

When NBC lost the NFL telecasts in 1999, it was somewhat depressing to not hear Enberg on the air, though CBS signed him up the next year. He is one of the few broadcasters that can call a game with the best of them, no matter if the sport is baseball, football, NCAA basketball playoffs, tennis, golf-no matter.

Dick Enberg is one of the great sports broadcasters of our time.
