SD scored a coup with Dick Enberg as the Padres broadcast man. What a gem, and a classic NFL guy from the 70-90's. Oh My.

I'm so jealous. We used to have him, and he was one of the brightest spots in Angels broadcast history. Why the Angels didn't snag him when he became available last year, I'll forever wonder.

Now we're stuck with boring Victor Rojas and Mark Gubiza with his heavy Philly accent.

Dick Enberg is awesome! He adds a professionalism that was missing before during Padres broadcast. In years past, the broadcast team seemed goofy, unfocused, and boring, but now Dick adds a calmness like everything is going to be ok, because he is so experienced and has such a great voice.

I still don't like Mark though, he honestly ruins it for me, sure some of his comments are fine after a couples of innings or so, but he constantly has to butt in and say stupid stuff that has nothing to do with the game.

I hope Dick returns to do the Chargers games when football season starts, his voice alone draws you into the game and he doesn't get annoying like some broadcasters do.

Enberg is not going to be doing NFL games anymore now that he has the Padres gig. I liked him too, especially paired with Dan Fouts. But when he took the SD job, I recall him saying that meant the end of his NFL work.

That would be great to have him back with Fouts talking about Air Coryell and the current Chargers. But perhaps we cannot go back to past greatness.

Padres lost in a disappointing boring game to the Dodgers, though nice to see the mature veteran Manny being Manny and good ole Joe Torre.

Though he didn't quit his day job, I think I heard him on the radio emceeing the La Jolla symphony. Classy guy. Is he nice in real life? Seems he would be, and not a jerk.

I prefer Enberg announcing my sunday afternoon football, but maybe that's just me.

I'm a Dodger fan if Phoenix so I get the MLB package on Directv. Obviously I'm spoiled with Vin Scully so when I get a broadcast from another team I'm usually let down. The Dodger broadcast tonight was only on the San Diego broadcast. I'm not a huge fan of Mudcat but you are lucky to have Dick Enberg. I enjoyed listening to him tonight. He is a legend going all the way back to his days doing UCLA games. Vasgergian was OK but you guys have legend in Enberg and hope you appreciate him.

Dick Enberg has grown on me. Considering he's been a RSF resident for years, he's probably in hog heaven to be that announcer for the Padres. I actually miss Matt Vasgersian, though.

How cool is it to have Tony Gwynn, Sr. announcing when his son is on the field playing? Must make a father proud.
