Wrong. I'm a Mizrahic Jew and while technically my lineage comes from the Caucasus, my family never held black slaves. Not all white people had black slaves and your comment about "your kind" is racist and slanderous.

In fact, it was so much so that you felt the need to apologize.

So my apologies to you if took any offense. I will tone down the rhetoric out of respect for you and the other forumers in the SF forum whom I also respect and will attempt to treat this issue with more tact.

Okay, take me out of the equation.

How can you honestly recommend 838 Square Feet to a family of four, or even three?

Is it worth living in a shoe box, surrounded by crime, and bad schools just so you can live in a nominally affordable neighborhood in Oakland?

I've always liked Cleveland Heights. Some people call it Haddon Hill and at the top of Haddon Road is Henry J. Kaiser's home. Anyway, I think its not as middle class as I would have thought considering the home prices.

Cleveland Heights directly borders Lake Merritt(a huge plus) and is located very close to the Lakeshore/Grand shopping areas. Its also conveniently located next to the 580 freeway. I like the diversity a lot, as well as the diverse socio-economic groups represented there.

10/10 are far as location.

Cleveland Heights
Average Household Income $67,208
Pop. Density: 13,063 per sq mile

There are only 4 properties for sale in Cleveland Heights right now and (sadly) they appear more than what a middle class family could probably afford at this time.

3bd/1bth fixer for $899,000

5bd/3bth for $795,000

2bd/2bth Condo for $284,900

1bd/1bth Condo for $199,000(right across from Lake Merritt)

Anyway,
Here are some other pics of Oakland's Cleveland Heights neighborhood.

That's a very pretty house.

The interior is stunning!

Just look at that floor! The fireplace, the cabinet, the arched doorway, the windows and the light fixtures...beautiful job.

Maxwell Park is also close to low income neighborhoods. Some people love that diversity, some people hate it. But to argue whether or not an area is middle class based on crime statistics doesn't make any sense. Or is that not the question at hand anymore? I'm losing track.
Thank you very much.

Maxwell Park is a gem.
