I hear there are many great diving points in the bay area, anyone have any experience jumping from the oakland or gg bridges? Does one need a wet suite swimming in the bay? What's the temperature like? How deep is the water? Do I really have to be worried about being attacked by killer whales?

Uh, that's usually a one-time jump.

Visibility in the Bay is quite poor for diving. The tides can also make it quite dangerous as well.

BTW there are over 1300 people with the experience of jumping from the GG Bridge, about 25 of them can offer you their advice. I'm willing to bet they would say don't do it.

Obviously a toll post or someone with a low IQ.

I've gone off of boats. There are really no cliff diving type areas - water's too shallow where there are bluffs here.

Try chaining a couple cinderblocks to your feet, helps your speed of decent when you dive.
