Hey everyone, I'm looking to move to the bay area in the next year or so and I'm trying to find a county/city in the bay area that is affordable (less than 500K), safe, and family friendly; preferably with a good school district and large properties (so I can have a large backyard). Does this place even exist??

Thanks!

Default Something in between

Can anyone recommend a nice city to live in between Sacramento and San Francisco. A little closer to San Francisco is ok.

I posted a thread last week about friends who bought an 867-square-foot dump on short sale for $500,000. Is that big enough for you?

Strange question... do you know of a similar property for sale?

Square footage is but one factor... location, lot size, etc... are all factors....

There are tons of houses >$500K these days. If you want some yard look at older developments. I know you can get a small house on a large lot in places like Castro Valley and Livermore. Sometimes even a large house! I looked online and saw a couple pages of 3/2's at that pricepoint. Some were shorts and REO's, but some were not.

I know people that love it and are very active in the community and High School...

Not everyone needs or desires the excitement of city life... I live in Oakland and sometimes covet a little more Boredom
