Many major companies are moving or re-locating part of their opperations, you are right.

It's because corporations don't want to provide for their employees so they move to the South where unions are rare and the state's don't have employee safeguards like in California. Companies that out-source their work to India and China are not friendly to Americans. And that these CEO's live in California is a huge insult to the people. They can afford to live in California [just look at the insane amount of money Whitman has]. But they make the rest of California suffer by moving their plants to Texas or Mississippi. But worse than that is that these corporations move their headquarters to places like Saudi Arabia or some Caribbean island nation that don't tax.

Capitalism the way it is practiced by Republicans is to do things dirt cheap and have no regrets screwing Americans. Who can favor that kind of monster?

Actually it is because we do not penalize GIGANTIC CORPORATIONS when they not only send our jobs out of state but OUT of the country.

We seem to be doing OK with our business here in the state. Yes, the taxes are high and they give breaks to minority owned businesses that seem quite unfair, but other than that, it is not too bad.

You are dellusional if you think california is good for business. Why do you think Austin has emerged as a beta tech center? You think dell operates out of texas for ****s and giggles? You think it is a coincidence that Texas has single handedly weathered this depression well while california has great depression like unemployment rates in some localities?

Get a clue dude. California is the last place anyone is going to start a business. The days of start ups around every corner have been over for a good 12 years.

That's because you don't realize how much money you're losing in California because you only operate locally on a single business. I own multiple businesses which are incorporated in different states.

For instance, I am a 20% owner of a restaurant chain that was incorporated in Delaware, and I realize how much money was saved by that move.

Screwing Americans? Really? So then corporations have some sort of unspecified responsibility to provide for people? That was tried already, it led to the near collapse of America's auto industry.

Incorporated in Delaware but where are they located?

But I live here and I want to keep my money here. I make it here, I spend it here. I enjoy the people here. Nothing against the East Coast but the weather sucks and I would rather die than live through the humidity anywhere east of the rockies.

Maybe someday when my kids are grown, I will relocate. But I really enjoy them being around a diverse group of people and having the experiences other cultures that the bay area offers. You don't get that in Texas.

Umm, business owners don't have to live where their businesses are located. Telecom tech has advanced far enough that you don't need to be physically at your business. I run an office in the SF Bay Area, and I haven't been to my San Rafael home in 4 months.

I love California too, and OC is one of the best parts of California, but I'll be the first to admit that the business environment here is hostile because of regulation and taxes.

You might want to take a trip out there before making a statement like that.
