Hi all, I have a question and I hope someone can help.
I will be going to SF next week, and I'm staying at Financial District, on 222 Sansome Street to be exact. Is there a public parking garage near this area? The reason that I dont want to park at the hotel because they charge $50/night. I heard a friend mentioned that there's a $18/night parking around here. But he forgot where it is. If anyone know a garage that doesnt cost a leg or a arm, please let me know.

Much appreciated!

$50/night might not be that bad of a deal given the location. Parking is deadly expensive here.

City operated garages are the cheapest. Portsmouth Square is $27 a day, but fills quickly in the AM. Sutter / Stockton is $34 a day. Either one would work for you.

I'm partial to the Sutter/Stockton St garage--around 3-4 blocks away from Sansome. It's well lit, I've always found spaces (even during Christmas shopping months) and not terribly traumatic to drive into. I think it's around 35$ for a 24hr period.

Do you really need a car? If you're flying in, it's easy to get from SFO to the city on BART.

Doubt you'd even need the car.

We generally rent a car for day trips when visiting SF. Not sure how the in-city rates typically compare to SFO, but it's been pretty convenient and cost-effective for us.
