It's not quite the immediate "Bay Area" but Bob's Giant Burgers in Pleasanton actually has one of the best burgers I've ever tasted.

This place is a classic from the 60's where the burgers are wrapped in paper to hold everything "in" or else it'll fall apart. Worth going to if anyone's ever out that way.

Sounds like my kind of place. I'm going to have to hit that place up before I move back down south.

I just went to the Burger Bar at Macy's for the first time today. It was good, and the prices are pretty fair considering it's in Macy's - I got a veggie burger on ciabatta with provolone, avocado, jalapenos, and a side of fries for about $14; friend got a salad and a soda, all told we spend about $34 plus tip.

That said, for the price, it should have been way better. Kind of blah veggie patty, and the avocado was bruised up. I like Mo's in North Beach a hell of a lot more.
