BART connector to Oakland airport inches ahead

$484 million so people can get to the airport a couple minutes faster? Sheer idiocy.

I give my neighbor an earful about this project every time I see her. She works for the contractor that won the deal.

This is a bad deal for everybody. Sheesh. Why on earth am I paying $6 to alk further and get rained on? I'll keep BARTing to SFO or drive to OAK or even take a cab. I mean it is cheaper and faster to split a cab with a stranger from BART to OAK and you'll have way less walking to do.

One word about this: #fail!

My favorite line:

Quote:
"I think it is time to finish what we started 20 years ago and make this a world-class system," said Commissioner Adrienne Tissier, who represents San Mateo County.

Christ....really? $156.1 million/mile? That's such a freakin' gouge, its ridiculous.

What could POSSIBLY cost $156.1 million/mile? This is something Oakland Airport actually needs (I didn't like taking the AirBART, since it costs MORE than the actual Berkeley-Oakland Coliseum trip itself) but not at this cost. It seems so woefully inefficient that I don't even know how to describe it.
