That's actually mostly true, except for the bedroom part, because S.F is a major center of jobs for the SF Bay. Most people commute into S.F for there jobs, and S.F residents don't commute outward for the most part to go to their jobs. Oakland on the other hand is in the Top 10% for unemployment, so many people do commute out of Oakland to go to work elsewhere.

This tangent doesn't really matter anyway, because the original point still stands, Oakland has horrible schools, and a horrible drop out rate that is way above the normal state average.

By the way, I have a house in Sacramento.

Does a dropout rate really make a school bad to attend? I mean really?

Contuining,

I have a house in Sacramento, I've experienced the city in and out. But I didn't say Oakland didn't have bad labels, I said the great
things in the city come in numbers.

You refuse to acknowledge those great things. And rap about the bad
things. And in a city vs city discussion, with a house in both cities granting me experience, I can indeed label Sac as a boring place to live, whatever the reason might be.

If you say so, keyboard warrior. I have a hard time believing that you have multiple houses as a high schooler and frequent Sacramento regularly, let alone its nightlife. But this is the internet and people say all kinds of crazy things.

And I can indeed label Oakland as the armpit of the Bay Area, whatever the reason might be.

What area of Sacramento, may I ask, is your home?

That first home on the list isn't even in Oakland. It's in Piedmont.

This entire thread just further validates my opinion that the vast majority of people who think negatively of Sacramento don't know anything about the place and has most likely never been here.

Sacramento has a lot of problems, but a lack of night life isn't one of them.

I used to have my preconceived notions about Sac, but then I ended up moving there for a couple of years. It was different, certainly not for everyone, but Midtown was a fun and lively neighborhood. Plenty of cool dining spots. There was always something going on in terms of nightlife, imo.

I stopped reading most of this thread, but someone mentioned the superior schools in Sac. Not necessarily true depending on the neighborhood. In fact, my stepsister's school (Sac High was actually closed down because of the low performance). That's pretty horrible to do to a bunch of kids. Then she ended up at some brand new charter school and I believe that one closed as well after she graduated.

The wealthier neighborhoods as usual are where the better schools are usually going to be in both Oakland and Sac.
