Out visiting in Oakland today and found a little shop on Grand Ave that sells unique soaps, clothing, and "lifestyle luxuries" like old fashioned shaving materials. Pretty cool concept! Will have to go back for gifts for the men in my family. Anyone know of other gems like this one in the East Bay?

There's a bunch of really cool shops along 4th street in Berkeley for great gift ideas.

I particularly love the one that sells things related to gardening (I don't know the name though). Here's a list of places.....Fourth Street Shopping and Dining Guide :: 4th Street is one of the San Francisco Bay Area's Favorite Shopping Districts in Berkeley :: WorldTravelShop

Wasn't sure we could write names of stores. It's on Grand Ave in Oakland and is called Henri Hubert. Right next to a sushi place that gets pretty busy for happy hour.

Went back and bought a couple of soaps. Tried the orange cinnamon with shea butter. Its amazing! And it's made by a local soap maker so that's a total plus. Nice lady works there too. No sales pressure and very helpful. Good products, great service, good eats next door, and a walk around the lake after. Not a bad way to spend the day.

Anyone try out Arizmendi Bread? That's not too far from there.
