I noticed that immediately

They get a pass though, because they kick ass and they aren't from SF, and thus don't realize how grating to the ears that nickname sounds to many of US. It's pretty common for non-SF natives to call the place San Fran, much to the horror of my precious ears.

90% of people under 30 in the Bay Area have no problem calling it frisco (especially natives). 100% of Bay Area hip-hop fans/rappers call it Frisco too.

The ironic thing is that aside from some older folks its usually the transplants who have the most problems with people calling it Frisco. It's like they think that they'll seem extra knowledgeable and like more of a legit SF resident (oops, i mean Frisconian ) if they jump on the "frisco hate" bandwagon or something.

Same here. When I lived on the peninsula for 10 years, my friends and I would say we're going to "The City". I never heard someone call it Frisco. Anyone who insists on saying Frisco is just trying to look cool, but is really just looking like a poser.
