I guess what you are saying is like those who think they need to tell us how bad the Republicans are when they have no reason to be concerned. Or those who love to blast Sarah Palin when they wouldn't vote for anyone with a D next to his/her name. It works both ways.

Uh What? Random people who hate California and have no say in any laws or decisions don't mean anything. Politicians who want to reverse everything progressive deserve to be called out. Sarah Palin is a threat to National Security if she ever becomes president.

Did you even read the article? Seriously, just admit that you didn't read it and your post would be less sad.

The City Council this month awarded a contract to a private company to issue the cards and administer the program. It would not cost the city any money.

The company would charge a fee of $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and youth to set up the cards. The Oakland Tribune reports that the debit feature would cost an additional $6.95.
The cards could be replenished with cash or checks at a cost of $2.95. They could also be set up to receive direct deposits.
Yes, it will save the users money, but it's a private venture for profit.

You do realize that this is being subsidize by tax payers, right? Just because something is being "outsourced" doesn't mean it's not being subsidized. You should take a basic business class at your local community college sometime.
Should Oakland Give Illegal Immigrants Taxpayer-Funded Debit Cards?

Only in California.

Why are you guys such bleeding hearts?

I am in no way a conservative, but jeez. You guys are seriously on sucker status.

No wonder you can't balance a budget to save your lives.

It's not being subsidized and I don't see anything in your article that claims as such. You are continuing to demonstrate that your real knowledge of the Bay Area is zero.

Says the guy who believes $15 per head is enough to support a complex EFT system "for profit" in perpetuity.
