Is this the coldest it gets in San Francisco during winter? I've heard that December is usually the coldest month in the in the Bay Area but...I haven't felt the weather up here to be all that different from SoCal at all, maybe cooler by just a few degrees. In fact, I was expecting it to be a lot more jacket/scarf friendly; not like Seattle or anything, but definitely more crisp-like.

Are we having a much warmer winter than usual or is this it? It's a little mild for my taste as I like the change of seasons!

No, it warmed up a lot in the last couple days into the upper 50's and low 60's. The last few weeks have been very cold, like in the 40's in the morning with a high of around 50 to 55. I was in Florida for Thanksgiving but apparently it was 36 in Oakland that day!

I don't mind this, it's a nice change from the cold weather we were having and will be gone soon enough. My apartment gets really cold when it gets below 50 so it's nice being able to open the windows and not have to put on a lot of layers. Also I think I'm going to go biking for the first time in a while since it's not super cold out.

no the coldest month is August, I had to wear a jacket one time.
you just happen to be in California when record highs are supposed to be broken in the next couple of days. But I am not suprised this has been a weird year for California weather.

Marine climate = not a lot of variation in temperatures between seasons. Its more of a wet/dry thing than warm/cold.

I asked someone from San Francisco if the (deciduous) trees lost their leaves in the winter. I remember she said "some do, but there's not really much reason for them to. We don't really have seasons."

Let's just wait until it really starts getting rainy and typical for the Winter in SF weather and THEN let's hear the complaints.

Eaxctly. Some years winter lags in coming but unlike SoCal, it always comes. It will get cold and it will get wet.
