Tracy? Why are you all recommending places so far. He can find that in Concord area. That area is very cheap and not nearly as far as Tracy and the BART goes there.

Parts of San Leandro and San Lorenzo MAY be ok. I think you can still rent a 3bd ranch for about $1400? You can still access BART and you are in the center of the Bay Area. Some (not all) of their schools are decent, especially ES. I would move out by MS and HS. It would be a good place to rent while you settle into your new jobs and reaquaint yourselves with the area....I don't know about Tracy. The commute is really too horrendous.

Absolutely absolutely absolutely not. They would start around $1800.

Oh wow, they have gone up! Here is a $1650 on craigslist, but yeah, it's small....
