Hi Folks, thank you for any input.

I am coming up on my 10yr anniversary of marriage and looking to spend at least a long weekend in Napa. Maybe a little sightseeing in San Francisco as well. This will be in the August timeframe. We are in our late thirties if that helps.

I am looking to stay in a spa type of place since my wife likes those things, but has to have good access to doing day trips to the vineyards which I like to do. Would be great if there were some type of shuttle service because I am going to be doing my fair share of drinking. I was there over 10yrs ago and remember seeing charters or member clubs that went vineyard to vineyard.

I have gone out to sites like expedia and came up with a few lodging options.

- Bardessono
- Milliken Creek Inn & Spa
- The Meritage Resort and Spa

My budget will be in the ~$4000 for flight and hotel for 4~5days.

I'm not familiar with those mentioned. These are the ones that get more press:

Sonoma Mission Inn
Solage Calistoga
Meadowood Resort
Carneros Inn

We stayed at the first two and we prefer Solage. Haven't been to Meadowood or Carneros Inn. Meadowood has, per the critics, one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area right now. All of these will have a concierge that can make travel arrangements to see some wineries if you don't want to drive.

My wife and I have stayed at the Carneros Inn four times, including during our mini-honeymoon right after we got married (took our real honeymoon the following year) and would highly recommend it. The spa there is awesome - had one of the best massages that I've ever had during my first visit. I don't know if they have a shuttle service of any sort - I kinda doubt it, given their size and location.
