I moved from one of the most liberal places in the USA to one of the most conservative places in the USA. That would be The bay area to Oklahoma City. Oklahoma is in the bible belt and is very conservative. We have more democrats in Oklahoma than republicans, however most vote republican in national elections and vote conservative elsewhere. Sometimes they elect democratic governors and locally. It has been a huge change but I try to keep a very open mind and am always willing to try new things. I don't think I could ever live here for a long term but while being in school pursuing the best meteorology program in the country is worth it. I have lived around the world so this is just one of those "new experiences."

I really just miss the diversity of SF which is usually associated to liberal areas.

I am wondering how does it feel to live in the most liberal place in the world, San Francisco. It is the capital for gays, open minded people, always looking for change, immigrants, diversity. Would you guys ever be able to live in a small, conservative, christian based town?
Haha awesome.

San Francisco is not even close to the most liberal place in the world. Try taking a trip to Europe.

I grew up in a rural, conservative small town in the South and have lived in the Bay Area for 11 years. I could move back no problem. The key I think is to be respectful. Also realize that conservatives and liberals are actually more similar than different. We share most of the same values, beliefs, mannerisms, and traditions. Its only a select few hot-topic issues that people latch onto. That and left and right-leaning media has been a driving force for creating more perceived separation.

This is so true. I'm a left leaning liberal. My girlfriend is a right leaning conservative and guess what...we haven't killed each other. We're much more similar than our mere political views. They make for stimulating conversation for sure but that's it.

As far as SF being the most liberal place in the world....

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Investigate Brussels, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Stockholm then come talk to us.

Every time I return home from a SF visit, I have to sit on a doughnut for a week. I blame liberals.
